Choosing Your Print

Choosing your flyers or leaflets comes down to size, paper weight, finish and quantity. This guide will help you decide what suits your job.

Choosing your size

Use our size guide below to compare flyer sizes with an ordinary sheet of A4 paper.

Fold the A4 sheet in half to get A5, then in half again for A6. Another fold gives you A7, and one more gives you A8.

For a tall, narrow leaflet, fold an A4 sheet into three equal sections. This gives you an idea of the size and shape of an A4 tri-fold leaflet.

Think about how much information you need to include. A smaller flyer suits a short, clear message, while a larger size gives you more room for wording and images.

Choosing your paper weight

Paper weight is measured in gsm, meaning grams per square metre. Higher weights generally give your print a heavier, more substantial feel.

Weight Available finishes
90 gsm — Budget Silk
130 gsm — Standard Silk or gloss
170 gsm Silk or gloss
250 gsm Silk or gloss
350 gsm Silk or gloss
400 gsm Silk

Our 90 gsm budget option is a lightweight choice. The 130 gsm standard option suits everyday flyers and leaflets. Higher weights give a more substantial feel, with 250 gsm and above moving into card weights.

Silk or gloss?

Silk has a smooth surface with a softer sheen.

Gloss has a shinier surface for a glossy appearance.

Both finishes suit text and images. The choice comes down to the look you prefer.

Single or double-sided?

Single-sided printing suits a simple message with everything on one side.

Double-sided printing gives you extra space for information, images or an additional offer without crowding the front.

How many do you need?

Consider how you will distribute your print and how long the information will stay current. Dates, prices and offers may limit how long you can use it.

If you are comparing quantities, ask for a quote for more than one amount so you can see the difference in cost.
